'We Journey With Jesus Beside Us'

Catholic Life and Mission

‘Catholic schools are ambitious for high achievement and high standards across the school.
High achievement is for everyone. It is inclusive of all abilities and in line with the school’s hopes for every child. So it is right that every Catholic school, reflects well on what it hopes for, reflects on how the learning experience offered in the school contributes to full human growth for everyone, so that the young are clearly on the road to become the people God intends.”

From ‘The distinctive nature of Catholic Schools.’

We believe our school is a truly special place. It is our faith, and our identity as a Catholic school, that makes it so. Everything we do is rooted in our commitment to making the person of Christ known and loved, placing Him and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the heart of our daily life. Our mission is to be a happy, caring and compassionate Catholic community where everyone is welcomed, valued, and given the opportunity to discover who God calls them to be. We strive to provide a nurturing environment where children feel supported and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.

At St Dunstan’s, we are guided by our Catholic values of Discipleship, Unity, Nurture and Service (D.U.N.S), which we live out each day. Through discipleship, we follow the example of Jesus. Through unity, we support and uplift one another. Through nurture, we care for and encourage every individual. Through service, we show love in action, especially to those most in need. We believe that every child is called to fulfil their potential and strive for excellence in all areas of life. We offer a wide range of opportunities through spiritual worship, academic learning, and extracurricular activities, helping each child to grow in confidence, faith, and understanding.

With God’s guidance, we teach our children to live safely and responsibly, to care for God’s creation, and to follow the example of Jesus through Gospel values. Through Religious Education and the wider life of the school, we help children to understand that every person is made in the image of God and is therefore to be valued and respected. We model and encourage a deep sense of love and care for our neighbours in all situations, especially those who are vulnerable or in need. We are committed to nurturing children who grow into kind, thoughtful individuals with a strong moral purpose—young people who are ready to use their gifts and talents to bring peace, show compassion, and make a positive difference in the world.
