'We Journey With Jesus Beside Us'

Catholic Life and Mission

‘Catholic schools are ambitious for high achievement and high standards across the school.
High achievement is for everyone. It is inclusive of all abilities and in line with the school’s hopes for every child. So it is right that every Catholic school, reflects well on what it hopes for, reflects on how the learning experience offered in the school contributes to full human growth for everyone, so that the young are clearly on the road to become the people God intends.”

From ‘The distinctive nature of Catholic Schools.’

We believe that our school is a very special place, it is our faith, the distinctive nature of being a Catholic school which makes it so special. Everyone is committed to the endeavour to make the person of Christ known and loved and to place Him and his teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of the educational initiative. Our mission is to be a happy, caring and compassionate Catholic community where all are welcomed and given the opportunities for children to discover who God calls them to be.  We provide a nurturing environment to support and inspire children to want to be the very best they can be. Christians are called to fulfil their potential and strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives, at St Dunstan’s, therefore, we strive to offer pupils every opportunity to develop their talents to the full through spiritual worship and opportunities, academic work and extracurricular activities. With God’s help, we teach our children to know how to live safely and responsibly, to care for God’s wonderful creation and to live their lives through the example of Jesus and the Gospel values. Through Religious Education and in the general life of the school and its broad and purposeful curriculum, we teach the children see and understand that every person is made in the image of God, therefore is to be valued and respected.  We model and teach the children to love and care for our neighbours in every situation, especially those who are in vulnerable and in need. We are committed to educating our children to be good people, who have a strong sense of moral purpose and a readiness to using their gifts and talents to help create peace in our world and act with compassion to those in need.
