St Dunstan's Chaplaincy Team
Chaplaincy team enjoying a lent workshop at St Malachy's primary school creating a cross with the other chaplain teams.
I am delighted and excited to be able to introduce our new School year.
All children in Year 5 were asked to apply for the position of being a member of the Chaplaincy Team.
Their role would involve supporting Teachers during Family Time, attending various events with other Chaplains from our Cluster schools. They would need to come up with and develop and carry out ideas to support all children within the school with learning about Jesus and what The Bible teaches us. They would need to prepare and lead Assemblies as well as attend Church services on other children's behalf.
We had a superb response from children writing their own letters of application.
The original Chaplains and myself and Mrs Stevens read each and every one of the letters and narrowed the choice down for Interviews.
The interviews were held by Father Saunders, Mrs Eccles and Mrs Stevens.
The new Chaplains were appointed and welcomed during a Celebration Assembly. Their roles are still developing but already they have helped in leading an Assembly and contributed ideas for a Prayer Area within school.
Kind Regards
Miss Ryder/Mrs Stevens
