Reading
“The more that you read, the more things that you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr Seuss
At St Dunstan’s, our intention and aspiration for each of our children is for them to enter their next stage of life and, eventually, the world of work as articulate and literate individuals with a strong love of reading. We recognise the responsibility to send children to secondary school having mastered at least the basic elements of reading. We aim to ensure that all children have the chance to follow an enriching curriculum by getting them reading early:
learning to read → reading to learn
Non - Stop Reading at St Dunstan's!
We read in lessons but it doesn't stop there - look below at what else we do!!

Chatter Books!
Only Girls Aloud (or Allowed!!) Starting in Autumn term, a select group of KS2 girls are gathering at lunchtimes with Mrs Stevens to discuss books, books and more books!
Look out in the library for their suggestions about the best books available.
